Wacken Open Air has officially unveiled the first batch of artists confirmed for its 2027 edition. The legendary festival will return to Wacken, Germany, from July 28-31, 2027.
Leading the announcement is a special 40th-anniversary performance by power metal icons Helloween. They are joined by high-profile acts including Electric Callboy, Five Finger Death Punch, and Knocked Loose. The 2027 roster also features a farewell tour appearance from Edguy and a special „Glory To The Brave” show by Hammerfall.
Extreme metal fans can expect performances from Children Of Bodom, Napalm Death, Overkill, and Dark Tranquillity. The diverse billing also includes Kanonenfieber, Heaven Shall Burn, DragonForce, and Halestorm. This initial reveal marks the start of the road to the festival’s 36th year, following the conclusion of the 2026 event which hosted 85,000 attendees.
Other notable additions to the 2027 lineup include Beast In Black, Cavalera Conspiracy, Jinjer, Avatar, and a collaborative set featuring John 5 And The Creatures with Wednesday 13. The announcement reinforces the festival’s commitment to representing a wide spectrum of heavy music genres on its world-renowned stages.
