British death metal institution Benediction has issued a significant update regarding their vocal position. Longtime frontman Dave Ingram has officially announced his withdrawal from the band’s active duties. Ingram cited the debilitating nature of his ongoing struggle with arthritis as the primary factor in his decision, noting that increasing pain has made performing unsustainable. While he will participate in select farewell appearances during 2026 to express gratitude to the fan base, his tenure as the primary vocalist has concluded.
To ensure the continuation of scheduled live commitments, the band has secured the services of two familiar associates. Oscar Rilo will occupy the vocal position for upcoming performances in Germany on May 15 and May 16, 2026. Furthermore, Dave Hunt will return to his former role as Benediction’s frontman for appearances at Iron Fest and Mystic Festival. This marks Hunt’s first participation with the group since his departure in 2019, when he was originally replaced by Ingram. The band emphasized their commitment to fulfilling all tour dates and expressed appreciation for the support received during this transition period.
