Legendary Norwegian black metal progenitors Darkthrone have revealed plans to release a specialized box set titled The Fist In The Face Of God. Scheduled for release on March 6, 2026, through Peaceville Records, the collection serves as an extensive retrospective of the band’s influential career. The set will feature nine full-length albums, encompassing their transition from death metal to the „unholy trinity” of black metal and their later explorations into crust punk and traditional heavy metal.

Included in the box set are the following titles: A Blaze in the Northern Sky, Under a Funeral Moon, Transilvanian Hunger, Panzerfaust, Total Death, Ravishing Grimness, Plaguewielder, Hate Them, and Sardonic Wrath. Beyond the studio recordings, the package provides a DVD containing a rare interview and a live album recorded in Oslo in 1996. This release is significant for collectors and scholars of the genre, documenting the evolution of a band that has remained a central, if reclusive, pillar of the Norwegian scene for over three decades.
