Norwegian black metal pioneers Mayhem will release their ninth full-length studio album, Liturgy Of Death, on February 6, 2026. Distributed by Century Media Records, the album is described as a return to an uncompromising black metal sound while maintaining the band’s evolutionary trajectory. The opening track, Ephemeral Eternity, features a notable guest vocal appearance by Garm of Ulver. The collection also includes compositions such as Despair, Aeon’s End, and the bonus track Life Is A Corpse You Drag. Early critical analysis highlights the technical precision of the guitars and the powerful vocal performance of Attila Csihar. The album marks a significant return for the genre’s most influential institution, blending the raw aggression of their early era with contemporary production standards.
