Norwegian symphonic black metal stalwarts Dimmu Borgir have officially announced the release of their highly anticipated new studio album, Grand Serpent Rising. The record is scheduled to debut on May 22, 2026, through Nuclear Blast Records. This announcement marks a significant return for the ensemble, who have also unveiled a comprehensive 13-song tracklist and the official album artwork.
The tracklist includes compositions such as Tridentium, As Seen in the Unseen, and Recognizant. To support the announcement, the band has confirmed that a music video for the track Ulvgjeld & Blodsodel will be premiered shortly. This project follows years of anticipation from the extreme metal community. The album appears to maintain the band’s signature blend of orchestral grandeur and blackened aggression. Fans can currently pre-order the record through official channels. No details regarding a supporting world tour have been disclosed at this time, though further updates are expected following the album’s release.
