New York death metal veterans Immolation officially released their latest studio album, titled Descent, on April 10, 2026, via Nuclear Blast Records. To coincide with the global launch, the band premiered a music video for the track „Bend Towards The Dark.” The album features ten tracks, including compositions such as „These Vengeful Winds,” „God’s Last Breath,” and „False Ascent,” concluding with the title track.
The record maintains the band’s established reputation for technical precision and a distinct, dissonant atmospheric approach to the death metal genre. Descent marks a continued period of high activity for the band under the Nuclear Blast banner and was supported by extensive pre-order campaigns for various limited vinyl and CD editions. The full record is now available for streaming on all major digital platforms. Critically, the album is being recognized as a definitive continuation of the band’s evolution, focusing on dark lyrical themes and complex rhythmic structures.
