Brazilian death metal outfit Gutted Souls, formed in 2004 from the ashes of Necropedophile, have evolved significantly since their early days of demo Fetal Gore (2002), which echoed the raw brutality of bands like Cannibal Corpse, Sinister, and Morbid Angel.
As their instrumental prowess grew, the band shifted toward a more technical and progressive sound. Despite numerous lineup changes, sole founding member Iron (IncognoscI, ex-Anopsy, ex-Diisgraça) has steered the project forward, with Wellington Ferrari joining to solidify their focus on death metal infused with politically charged lyrics exploring themes of psychopathy, media manipulation, and the corruption of science and religion.Gutted Souls’ discography includes the EP Unconscious Automaton (2012), the full-length The Illusion of Freedom (2017), and the single Organic Portal (2019). Over the years, they’ve shared stages with heavyweights like Obituary, Master, Carach Angren, Unleashed, Apocalyptic Raids, and Krisiun, including a standout performance at Extreme Hate Festival.Now, the band is poised to unleash their second studio album, Portals To Chaosium, featuring eight brand-new tracks (plus an intro and outro). This release marks a bold shift toward a darker, faster, and more ferocious brand of death metal, promising to captivate fans with its unrelenting intensity.
