‘Chaos Horrific’ is the sixteenth studio album by the legendary band Cannibal Corpse, which has been delighting death metal fans for years with its brutal and uncompromising compositions. The album was released on September 22nd, and fans of the band had been eagerly anticipating the latest work from their favorites.

I have been a fan of Cannibal Corpse’s work from the very beginning, so I was eagerly looking forward to listening to ‘Chaos Horrific’. My initial impressions were somewhat mixed – the fast, energetic songs dominated by Alex Webster were overwhelming in their intensity, but I was missing some diversity and breakthrough in the album. It was only after a few listens that I began to notice subtle nuances, interesting arrangements, and clear quality in the compositions.

The musical skills of all band members remain impressive as always. Bassist Alex Webster once again demonstrated his unparalleled compositional abilities, which definitely contribute to the strength of this album. However, the involvement of Rob Barretta and Erik Rutana in the creative process came as a surprise, bringing a fresh touch and new ideas to the pieces. Corpsegrinder’s vocals are consistently excellent, adding the right amount of brutality and rawness to the whole.

One of the most controversial moments on the album turned out to be the title track, which, in my opinion, slightly stands out from the rest of the compositions. The straightforward chorus and predictable thrashy riffs don’t quite fit with the rest of the material and introduce some chaos into the whole. Luckily, this can be forgiven, as the other compositions compensate for these shortcomings.

The guitar solos play an important role on the album, being exceptionally intricate and interesting, adding an extra depth and intensity to the whole. Despite some controversies and moments that may not convince everyone, ‘Chaos Horrific’ is a solid piece of work that impresses with its consistency and energy.

In conclusion, ‘Chaos Horrific’ is another successful addition to Cannibal Corpse’s discography, which will definitely appeal to fans of the genre. Despite some shortcomings and moments that may not be entirely successful, the band proves that they can still surprise and captivate with their creativity. Highly recommended for fans of brutal death metal and extreme music!
