Down Signs with Nuclear Blast Records, New Album Set for 2026

Legendary supergroup Down has officially inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Records, marking a major milestone as they put the finishing touches on their highly anticipated new album, slated for release in 2026. The band, featuring members with storied histories in Pantera, Corrosion Of Conformity, Crowbar, and Eyehategod, is ready to unleash their signature swampy, riff-heavy sound once again.

Nuclear Blast shared their excitement in a collective statement: “We’re thrilled to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with NOLA legends Down as they make their long-awaited return to the metal world. We’re also eager to reintroduce some of their iconic catalog releases, especially on vinyl. With so many longtime Down fans at Nuclear Blast, working with one of our all-time favorite bands is a dream come true. 2026 can’t come soon enough!”

The band echoed the enthusiasm:

“It feels great to join Nuclear Blast Records. It’s a solid home for us, and we’re ready to create some killer records!” – Philip H. Anselmo

“Being part of the Nuclear Blast family with Corrosion Of Conformity, it’s an honor to now be here with my brothers in Down. They’re a well-oiled machine, and you can tell they love what they do. We’re in the right place.” – Pepper Keenan

“Nuclear Blast is a top-tier label with some incredible releases. It’s an honor to have them working on our music!” – Jimmy Bower

Known for their unmistakable blend of colossal riffs, bluesy leads, thunderous drums, and hypnotic vocals, Down has carried a torch for heavy music since their 1995 platinum debut, NOLA. Their discography, including Down II: A Bustle In Your Hedgerow (2002), Down III: Over The Under (2007), Down IV – Part One (2012), and Down IV – Part Two (2014), has cemented their legacy, with iconic live performances alongside Metallica, Heaven & Hell, and at festivals like Download, Soundwave, and Ozzfest.

Fans can catch Down headlining the opening night of Milwaukee Metal Fest on May 16, 2025, at The Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee, following their recent U.S. West Coast tour with Danzig. For more details, visit: therave.com/metalfest.
