Finnish Black Metal Act Mourniaty Unveils Winter-Centric Visuals for “Kyynelten Virta”

Finnish black metal practitioners Mourniaty have transitioned into the visual medium with a debut music video for “Kyynelten Virta,” a core composition from their debut album, Musta maa.

Published in late 2025 via Inverse Records, the project reflects a thematic focus on Paganism and Anti-Christianity, articulated through a blend of symphonic textures and mid-tempo rhythmic structures.

The accompanying video was directed by Janne Hietanen and filmed in monochrome at the Art Center Antares’ amphitheater during a cold winter night, featuring the lineup as a trio due to the absence of guitarist Liekkiö. Sonic clarity for the release was refined at Deep Noise Studios, with mixing credits shared between Karulainen and Joona Rinne, while Saku Moilanen provided the final mastering.
